Feb. 21st 2015:
We recommend that you finish packing the day before. If you live near us we suggest you bring your luggage to our house the day before, so you have less
worries in the morning. (Remember to pack light as you are responsible to carry your luggage for the duration of the trip.)
- Measure and weigh your bags to avoid additional airport fees.
- Tickets, passports, driver's license, etc: Make sure to have your important documents and that you pack them in your carry-on bag.
Note: Also, pack any medications, cameras, etc. in your carry-on bag.
Feb. 22nd 2015:
- Wear comfortable clothes and shoes while flying. We recommend comfortable shoes that can be removed easily for airport security. Shoes that
slip on and off are great, however closed toed shoes are best as there are many things to smash your toes on.
- Please refer to your schedule for your departure time, and arrive on time to the Score's house, or airport. (Depending on the package you purchased and
your departure airport.)
- Bring money to tip the bus driver, for baggage fees*, airport porters (if applicable) and if you want to purchase food items* before flying. (Airline does
not serve meals).
- Meet up with group in the Virgin America Luggage Claim Area, after your flight lands in Ft. Lauderdale to board buses.
* Baggage fees and food items can be purchased with a credit card.
Feb. 23rd 2015:
- Continental breakfast is served in the Hotel lobby from 6 am to 10 am. (Included in your vacation package).
- Check out of hotel by 10:30 am. Don't forget to leave a tip in your room for the maid.
- Meet in hotel lobby at 10:45 am to board buses to head to the cruise pier. (Please put your cruise ship luggage tags on your bags before loading
them on the bus.)
- Bring some small bills to tip the bus driver, ship porters, etc.
- Ship check in. Have one person per family hold everyone's passports, tickets,Set Sail Pass, and the credit card that you want linked to your on board
account ready to present to the person at the counter.
- Windjammer Café. We recommend heading there for lunch after you board.
Note: At check-in each person will be given a boarding card (A.K.A. SeaPass Card). This is your boarding card to get on / off the ship, your cabin key, and what
you use to make on board purchases. (It will be linked to your credit card. The ship operates a "cashless" system. You will receive a statement in your cabin the
last night which you can compare with your receipts. It will automatically be charged to your credit card. When checking in you can decide whether or not you want
your child's card linked to your credit card. If you have small children or are afraid they may lose their card you may prefer NOT to have it linked to your credit
card.
Feb. 27th 2015: You will need to pack your bags and place them in the hallway outside your cabin before midnight the night before disembarking. (Unless
instructed to do otherwise). DO NOT put your carry-on bags in the hallway, keep these with you.
- Weight of your bags: Try to keep your bags under the weight limit to avoid additional airport fees.
- Bag tags: Remove old airline / ship tags from your bags to avoid confusion. Put on new ship color-tags which will be placed in your cabin on Feb. 12th.
- Carry on bag: Leave room for your P.J.'s, toiletries, etc. to put in your carry on in the morning.
- Tips Vouchers: Tip vouchers will be delivered to your cabin today with envelopes. Please put the voucher in the envelope and deliver to your waiter, etc.
tonight. The voucher is for a standard tip, if you feel someone did an extra good job and you want to leave more then the standard tip just add a little cash
in the envelope with the voucher.
- Tickets, passports, driver's license, etc: Make sure to have all your important documents and to pack them in your carry-on bag.
Note: Also, pack any medications, cameras, etc., in your carry-on bag.
Feb. 28th 2015 Disembarking the Ship
- Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for flying. We recommend comfortable shoes that can be easily removed for airport security. Shoes that slip on
and off are great, however closed toed shoes are best as there are many things to smash your toes on.
- Wait in one of the designated areas of the ship until your color coded tag is called. When your color is called proceed off the ship to the ship's luggage
claim area.
- Luggage: You are responsible to collect your luggage from the ship's storage area.
- Bring money to tip the bus driver, for baggage fees*, airport porters and if you want to purchase food items* before flying. (Airline does not serve meals).
- Meet up with group Outside the ship's luggage claim area to board bus to head to the Everglades Tour and then to the airport.
- Arrange pick up from Score's house or your destination airport (depending on the package you purchased and your departure airport.)
- Enjoy all your great photos and memories and start planning your next vacation with the Score's.
Days at Sea: To make the most of your days at sea aboard ship carry the ship's daily schedule with you. Circle the events you want to go
to, and refer to it often.
A new daily schedule is delivered to your cabin every evening, If everyone in the cabin doesn't have one you can tell your cabin steward to leave extra
or just stop by the Purser's Desk where they have extra schedules for free. There are also kid schedule's available.
- Try something new Hey, you're on vacation try something new, be adventurous! Go ice skating, climb the rock wall, learn how to fold napkins or take
dance lessons!
- Try the dining room for breakfast and / or lunch. Hey, the Windjammer buffet is great, but if you have time, eat breakfast and / or lunch in the dining
room, it's awesome and FREE!
much more without the stress and physical exhaustion that comes with too many bags. You'll save money too because the airlines charge baggage fees. Pack
clothes you can mix and match. Yeah re-wear a few. If you really want something cleaned the ship has laundry service for a small fee. Look at our FAQ on what
NOT to pack.
- Show up on time for the buses, tours, etc. Professionals are always on time.
- Don't shell the lobster. If lobster is served in the dining room, just be patient and let the waiter serve everyone. Once this is done the waiter will come
around and remove the lobster from it's shell for you. Amateur cruisers always start ripping, tearing and nawing at their lobster tails...eeeewww!
- Ladies don't put your napkin on your lap. The waiter will come around and do this. (They will do this for men too.)
- Free stuff. Know where to get the free stuff. When dining in the dining room, water, iced tea and lemonade are free. When you are in the Windjammer
or just get thirsty, head to the Windjammer and you can always pick up a water, ice tea, lemonade or juice for free. You don't have to drink it in the
Windjammer, carry it with you and when you are done, just set the glass down on a table or leave it in your cabin, it will quickly be cleaned up. If you order
drinks (even iced tea) from the bar they will always charge, however you can ask the bar for water and it's free. Also, if you take a plate of food from the
Windjammer you can carry the plate with you and then just set it down somewhere. There are free motion sickness pills at the Purser's Desk. There are
free alcoholic drinks at current events like the Captain's Welcome Aboard Party, a Repeat Passenger Party, etc. If you join the activities you might win a
free gift. If you do the activities on the schedule that have a picture of the running man next to it, then after you do the activity you can ask for a Ship
Shape dollar, if you collect enough you can turn them in for free T-shirts, hats, etc. I don't know if the rock wall shows the running man, but if you ask,
they will give you a Ship Shape dollar after you climb it, every time you climb it.
- Carry the schedule. So, you always know what's happening and where.
- Phone list With your tickets you will receive a passenger list of everyone's name (in our group) and cabin number. Keep it by your cabin phone, so you
always know where it is to make plans with someone in the group. (If you lose it or it gets destroyed just ask us for a new one. We bring a limited supply of
copies).
- Bar tips. Know that when you order drinks from the bar, there is an automatic tip added in. There is also a line where you can add an extra tip. Be
careful and look at your receipt, if you do not want to leave another tip, put a zero on the additional tip line and total your receipt.
- Personal luggage tags are good to put on all your bags. Not only are they helpful to porters, airline personnel, etc., if your bags are lost they may help
the group identify your bags, so perhaps one doesn't get left behind.
- Have tickets / Important docs
- Fill out Final Details Form
- Read FAQ (especially about airline fees).
- Have all medications, cameras, etc.
- Fill out Meal Form
